the alchemist

i recently tumbled across a song from my sister's ipod which had a line that went something about only a broken heart can write a good love song.. not sure if this song was from the carpenters or the corrs *shrug*.. but i think it's true.. nt just for songs.. bt for story's as well..

i stumbled upon another song today on the bus.. and it's been on repeat ever since.. because a story hit me smack in the face.. i'm gonna start typing out the script now.. and see if it is as beautiful as it first seemed or maybe i've just got one heck of a biased opinion hur... again i can't seem to base my stories in singapore which is a problem lol.. this one's kinda set in italy, nt sure which time period but when ppl were still using horse pulled carriages as a mode of transport.. i'd like to think of it as "The Illusionist" and "Moulin Rouge" combined.. hurhur...(again just my personal very biased opinion...) i've already got a title :) which is pretty rare for most of my ideas..

remember when i said my stuff was falling apart?
now one of the cooling fans on my macbook pro has failed and it severly overheats when i open too many programmes... like i didn't realise but iTunes increases the temperature up by like 6-7 degrees? hahaha.. damn ridiculous.. then if i'm running adium also, running skype, hamachiX, ghost recon? good game lol.. it hit 82 degrees C just now while i was playing sof in a window with adium running.. the only working fan was running maxed out at 6000rpm... so stupid.. i had to elevate it with one of those trays with lotsa slots to allow aircirculation, turn on the fan and aircon full blast to reduce it down to not a very enticing 70-76 degrees... wth? can almost boil water knowww... mad...

i went to check online, and it turns out that other ppl's fan's have died before.. and they got their laptop swapped in for a new piece :D ( i hope i get one of those newer ones if i'm able to swap mine hurhurhur the more badass 2nd generation of macbook pros lol )...
but then gotta get all my stuff out of the lappy *lazy*

so in the midst of all the things (my things haha) falling apart, like my monitor which decided to pass on, and my handphone which is being as sucky as ever, my wallet and bag need changing, i'm running outta shirts to be worn without considering myself boring, my steaming hot white jacket still looks like a world away, so does my guitar, i still can't run, and being shot by a fat fart who thinks he knows alot about bruce willis at the 4th SG short cuts ysterday when i asked a question (i'm sure he's got his reasons, he probably is bruce willis's neighbour *snigger*)... hmm and some other things i dun remember... ah yes a couple of socks that have holes in em that my toes protrude out of hurhur... it's good to listen to "feel-good" music hahaha enjoy! :D

thingum-me-jingum

there's this thingum inside that puts me through all sorts of jingums...
sometimes they're sad, other times they're not so sad or happy..
it's the same thingum that prevents me from falling into depression, when times are hard...
the thingum that i just can't find once i've already fallen.. the thingum that i'll always receive with open arms...
it just happens that sometimes this thingum gives other not so easily receivable jingums.. like when it becomes the catalyst in a downard spiral whenever something i don't like happens.. it adds weights onto those cheeks causing a really dreadful frown =( ... the frown soon turns to something more violent.. of anger and hatred, of envy/jealousy.. it's here when thingum makes the world a horrible place to live in... because no one can be trusted, no one can understand or comprehend, no one is gonna be good enough to be 'here' or 'there'... this is when this whole mess becomes a Solo effort to get through.. it's when a little voice somewhere goes, 'i won't if they won't, i won't if he doesn't, i won't if she doesn't, i basically won't do anything unless....' ...
there was once thingum managed to get me so far down the spiral staircase... i couldn't see a way up.. there wasn't even an idea, or want, to climb up... a want to even think about climbing back up.. it's when thingum passed me a white piece of cloth and a stick.. a symbol of all sorts.. a very discouraging one... i did take it... and i continued down the to the black abyss that seemed had no end... it was cold and dark.. it was a lonely place.. because everyday u just seemed to stand out even in the warmth of the sun.. but u can't feel it.. u gather with friends or loved ones but u can't feel it.. u stand in the rain and feel nothing... the nothingness eats into you, it burns every part of your soul until you're so full of it, it seems there's no escape.. and neverending is the pain in your chest.. a pain that comes and goes.. one that tells u u're alive though u'd much rather be dead...
it's hard to see an end to it but there is one.. it's when you realise that there's nothing to fear... and u feel a sudden leap of life, of confidence... that u return thingum it's cloth and stick, say au-revoir and bon chance before hopping off the side of the steps with a smile on your face.. closing your eyes to for the first time feel the wind on your cheeks... and when u open your eyes again, u're in the sun, u hear words from your mouth that are just words alone but when put with a melody mean so much more... it's when thingum gives u a pat on the back and u feel for what it's worth, the warmth of love....

'Garden State'

watched Garden State today...
written and directed by Zach Braff (the guy in the picture), who most of us will probably know as that actor from Scrubs...
out of a max of 10, i'd give this movie a 8/10.. which so happens to be it's rating on imdb as well lol...
the soundtrack for the film is also pretty awesome...

average movie.. but a wee bit too much talking and by the time the climax came, it ended to fast... 6.5/10

lol... there's just no praising it.. apart from it's crude hokkien jokes which does bring a few laughs here and there... don't go in with too critical of an eye or it'll be painfully unbearable to watch..

i drove to bhavani's (bishan) yesterday for our production shoot.. i was camera operator and asst cinematographer.. really cool especially since this was the first project we were officially shooting on film.. 16mm film *nod nod*.. hope it comes out alright.. lol.. quite worried bout exposure, colour temp and focus and all that.. haiyah.. hurrrr then i drove home =P i had the car for the day hahhaha damn fun!!
